...has been added to the calendar (May 21)...for those interested in another round of the virtual group ride.

I had such a great time last time, I think I'm going to give another try.

I thoroughly enjoyed the April outing. I'm in for May. Weather permitting I may make it an overnight camping trip.

I did a little campsite recon yesterday.

I think this view will do for sunset. 17 miles from my doorstep, and free to boot.

That's what I like to see!  Campsite reconn demonstrates that you are taking this important stuff SERIOUSLY.  And well done, sir!

Now then...let's allow this to be an inspiration for us all.

I officially made camping reservations today for Jay Cooke State Park for the 21st. I reserved a walk-in campsite. My friend Jeff will be joining me. He went on the last Sunset/Moon rise event with me. It's a pleasant 17 mile ride from my house. Fifteen miles of it can be done on The Munger State Trail. It's a rail trail. Or I can take roads too. The only disadvantage is the park sits along the St. Louis River with hills on either side. We may have to get creative finding a viewing spot. But I'm in. Now I have to hope for good weather.

Who else is planing to attend this virtual meet-up this Saturday? As planned, I'm going with a friend. We're making it an overnight bike camping outing. When the long range forecast first came out it was looking pretty bleak. I'm very happy to see the forecast has improved. So much so, I'm very excited we made these plans. We couldn't ask for better weather.

Unfortunately, I'm out this month.  I had forgotten about a long term prior commitment when thinking about this weeks ago.  I'm looking forward to the reports.

It'll be touch and go for my participation. We're in a typical late spring meh cycle here in Portland, and Saturday is mostly cloudy, 40% chance of showers. We'll see how it turns out.

However, I am committed to June, since I put the event on the Pedalpalooza calendar!

So, was it just our Minnesota wing of SOW that made it out for the sunset/moonrise?

It was a rainy afternoon/evening here in Portland, so no, didn't do it. In fact, my bike managed to fall in a puddle, but that's another story...

Yeah, gray and overcast here in the Hudson Valley, no tellin when the sun set or the moon riz...just different shades of grey.

Is the mud all packed up in the Hand grip now? I hate it when that happens.

Beautiful Shot Doug!
I did get a crappy cell phone shot of the Moon coming over the trees this Sunday evening. I stuck it up on my Tumblr page.

Thunderstorms here in southwest Mo., so no full moon riding.   Perhaps a future "meet up"?
