Go ahead and ridicule me if I am late to the party on this. But this morning I was waiting for it to get warm enough for a pleasant ride, and I found this on A-P TV. It has all the MTB Hall of Famers on it: Tom Ritchey, Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, Charlie Kelly, Fred Wolf, Wendy Cragg, etc. Turns out that the earliest Klunker races in Marin County had the riders competing for a bag of weed... pretty hilarious. The interviews were well-done, and the old film footage was excellent. No wonder those old Ritchey and Fisher MTBs command such high prices these days. It makes me want to see if I can duplicate one of those old klunker builds, but I imagine it is next to impossible to find an authentic frame - and forget about an old Morrow hub... ah well. Cool viewing, anyway. __________________ Rouler pour la joie, jamais pour la douleur.

Funny you mention this. I just watched this again on Friday last. I bought a DVD of it some years back and burned it to my harddrive so I can watch it without digging out the disc. Really good stuff.
I have an old DiamondBack Traverse frame and fork that I am going to make into a clunker. Going to go with old school motorcycle MX bar and coaster brake wheel in the back. All of those blokes and blokettes involved were quite interesting.
