Howdy, chaps.

Going for my weekly ride this morning with me son, and we have scoped out a nice, new spot to ride.

We ride on our local MUP, The Kern River Parkway, and we usually stick to the west end. There is some really nice riding with the river on the north side, and parks and nice residential areas on the south.

Once one gets to the westernmost end of the park/residential portion, we get to Allen Rd and cross under. Once past Allen, we are in farm lands and the Kern River flood plain area.

I posted some really nice photos some time back of the area after a wet winter we had a few years ago. It truly is my favorite area to ride.

After a bit of exploring last weekend, we scoped out some new territory off of the path.
Due to the proximity to the river, there are lots of service roads for servicing wells, and pump houses and after consulting Google Maps, we saw that there are some very nice dirt roads all over to the north of the MUP. So, today, off we go!

It appears to be solid packed dirt roads, fairly smooth with occasional loose stuff.

Hopefully, If I am not so utterly stoked with the ride, I'll get some pics and post them up.
This photo is in a location I have referenced before, but I couldn't pass up the photo op again. This may be one of my favorite spots on the ride.

As a fellow Privateer owner, I really like your build, Brett.  The Privateer lends itself to so many variations.  Mine is a bit more of the randonneus style.  I really like the tires.  What brand are they?

Thanks, Doc.
The tires are Specialized Sawtooth. Very nice tires on both pavement and dirt. If I had it to do over, I would get them again!
